Jordin Sparks competed in the L.A. Marathon on Sunday (March 19th), and the singer took to IG to share with her followers that she was leaning on Isaiah 40:31, and asking for prayers since she had no training for the event, “no training, just doing it!” she wrote on IG….
Jordin wrote on IG:
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:31
I’m doing something I’ve never done…bring it, LA Marathon! I said yes on Thursday. No training, just going for it. Prayer Warriors, would you mind covering me & the other runners today? Any positive thoughts & prayers are greatly appreciated! If I’m not running, I’m gonna jog. If I’m not jogging, I’m gonna walk. If I’m not walking, I’m gonna crawl…but I WILL cross that finish line!
When she was done, Sparks gave God all the glory!
I wouldn’t have made it on my own strength. He is so good. @lamarathon was such a challenge but I loved it. I leaned on Isaiah 40:31 & Phil 4:13 all day. And, a good friend told me, ‘Anytime something starts to hurt, thank God for it.’ Another said, ‘Think about why you started and PUSH.’ And I did both of those things when my hip flexor gave out, when my left foot went numb and when my right leg eventually locked up. I remembered my why & thanked God for it all the way up to the finish line!
