Octavia Spencer, who is up for an Oscar for her role as a mathematician and spunky NASA supervisor Dorothy Vaughan in the feel-good historical drama “Hidden Figures,” is set to star in The Shack, which hits theaters in March, revealed that if Hidden Figures enlighten, and inspire, then The Shack will be a healing film.“The Shack is another film, for me, with a positive message. I’m happy about these positive messages that the films that I’m associated with this year will have; the impact. If Hidden Figures is going to enlighten and inspire, I think The Shack will be a healing film, so I’m really excited about the work that’s getting out there this year,” the actress told Deadline.
The Shack takes us on the journey of a grieving man who receives a mysterious, personal invitation to meet with God at a place called “The Shack.”
