On Monday a jury found that Katy Perry’s Grammy-nominated song “Dark Horse” copied Christian rapper Flame song “Joyful Noise.”
According to PageSix, the unanimous verdict came five years after Flame and two co-authors of “Joyful Noise” first filed the copyright infringement lawsuit against Perry and other songwriters on the hit single.
Attorneys for the Christian rapper and his co-plaintiffs, Emanuel Lambert and Chike Ojukwu, claimed beats through nearly half of “Dark Horse” was lifted from “Joyful Noise.”
Perry and her legal team argued that she doesn’t listen to Christian rap, but Flame’s team argued back that the singer started her musical career as a Christian artist.
Next, the case will move to the penalty phase, where the jury will decide how much Perry and other defendants owe.

During Erica Campbell’s radio show 3rd anniversary celebration, BeBe Winans was surprised with the key to Brooklyn, New York.
Via GetUp Mornings!
After praying with Le’Andria Johnson off stage, BeBe thought he was coming back to perform his set, but Erica paused the music to present a slideshow that broke down all of his accomplishments throughout the years. When it was over, GRIFF pulled a large gold key out of his pocket and Deputy Borough Chaplain Ingrid explained the honor to everyone watching. Prayer followed, but the surprises continued.
BeBe’s music label was also on site to present him a plaque for earning his first no. 1 charting spot for “He Promised Me.” It’s not his first no. 1 earning for music overall, but it is his first for a song he sang and wrote himself.
