Jennifer Aniston Turns 51 With “Interview Magazine” Cover

Jennifer Aniston celebrated her 51st birthday on Tuesday (Feb. 11th) with the release of her Interview Magazine cover that had me saying,” where is Brad Pitt!

The Morning Show star looked beyond amazing as she posed in a black leather Celine jacket and black thigh high Celine boots.

Jennifer Aniston

For her cover story, friend and fellow actress Sandra Bullock interviewed Aniston who just won a SAG award for her role as Alex Levy on Apple TV’s The Morning Show. Bullock asked Jen how she felt about the success of the show:

D-U-N-N-O. Honestly, I think there was no attachment to a result, and I think that’s a real key to success in life, to not worry about the landing, but enjoy the experience. That’s what we did. We were focused on making something really great and interesting and a bit daring, and trying to be as honest as we could. But I think it’s about not having an attachment to the outcome.

The Black Kids: Follows A Black Teen’s Life During The Rodney King Riots

The Black Kids by Christina Hammonds Reed is a love letter to Los Angeles, while also a story about sisterhood, black childhood and black families during the Rodney King Riots of 1992.

The book which hit shelves this September, will also be adapted for the big screen according to recent reports.

The Black Kids

Set in Los Angeles in the days following the televised  beating of Rodney King by police officers, instead of feeling anger, Black high school senior Ashley Bennett, who comes from a well-to-do family, is unconcerned. That changes when the police are acquitted of criminal charges stemming from the violence and riots break out close to Ashley’s home.

The author shared with Teen Vogue that she was intentional about having the Rodney King Riots be the backdrop of Ashley’s story.

“It forced the city and its people to acknowledge the divisions, inequality, and anger in its own backyard,” she says. “They amplify a national conversation on race, power, and accountability that we’re still struggling with almost 30 years later. Past is very much present.”

Accepting the award, Cherry dedicated the award to Kobe Bryant. It’s the second time in three years that a professional athlete won this category. Kobe Bryant and Glen Keane won the trophy in 2018 for Dear Basketball.

Hair Love

Cherry said he made Hair Love “because we want to see more representation in animation and to normalize black hair.”

“It was a labor of love… because we have a firm belief that representation matters deeply,” Toliver said while accepting the Oscar, “especially in cartoons because in cartoons that’s when we first see our movies.”

Hair Love

The short film was started via kickstarter, which at the time broke the record for the highest amount raised for any short film on the platform. It tells the beautiful story of an African American father and his daughter attempting to do her hair, and learning to love what makes her in the process.
