Roma Downey and Mark Burnett are back with another movie to bring us hope! The Resurrection movie is a biblical epic on the aftermath of the earth-shattering event of Jesus’ crucifixion in first century Jerusalem.
Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, He has risen! – Luke 24:5-6
I was blessed to attend an early screening of the film virtually and if I wasn’t crying I was praising God throughout the movie. That’s just how powerful it is.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.- Matthew 28:5-6
Over a gripping 90 minutes we experience the emotional turmoil faced by Jesus’ followers as they attempt to come to terms with the devastating loss of their leader. His death leaves them disillusioned, hunted and afraid; his resurrection triggers hope, faith and love, that has changed the world.

Formerly holding the position of City Council President, Janey became the first woman and first Black person to hold the position after former Mayor Martin Walsh was confirmed as U.S. Labor Secretary.
Prior to becoming Mayor, Janey made history in 2017 when she was elected to the Boston City Council as the first woman to represent District 7. In 2020, she was elected by her peers as President of the Boston City Council.
Janey will hold the position for seven months before the November election, and according to reports she has not said whether she plans to run. #RunKimRun
On her first day as acting Mayor, “To quote Lizzo, I felt good, I’ll leave it at that, I won’t finish the sentence,” she said.

OWN announced last week that after ten years and eight seasons the award-winning series will have its series finale when all-new episodes premiere Saturday, April 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. A two-hour farewell special will air on Saturday, May 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT showcasing all the memorable moments and never-before-seen footage from the series.
Featuring six-time New York Times bestselling author, spiritual life coach, host, and executive producer Iyanla Vanzant, the life changing show has been the highest-rated unscripted series in OWN history across all key demos.
“The time I have spent creating and working on ‘Fix My Life’ has been nothing short of phenomenal,” said Iyanla. “In my heart of hearts, I believe that ‘Fix My Life’ has contributed to the creation of a new genre of television programming, where people get to speak and see how to address issues that have been taboo. To have a network, a production team and a crew that could stand in and participate in the manifestation of this vision has been humbling and most rewarding. My prayer is that ‘Fix My Life’ will be standard for others who have the vision and courage to bring personal healing work to the television screen.”
Congratulations are in order for Bishop J. Drew Sheard and his family.
On Saturday the Church of God in Christ announced that they had elected Bishop Sheard as the worldwide leader of the organization, which is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the country.
The Bishop said the opportunity to serve the church in this manner is a dream come true by the grace of God.
“I am humbled and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this extraordinary organization, the Church of God in Christ, as its new leader and Presiding Bishop,” Sheard said. “To be elected to serve as the Presiding Bishop for the Church in which I was born, raised, and have learned and served all my life, is a dream and desire that can only be fulfilled by God’s loving grace and guidance. The opportunity to serve such an extraordinary organization at our highest recognized level of priesthood is beyond humbling. I am so grateful for the unparalleled support of my loving wife, Karen, who has served diligently alongside me in ministry, and for my children. I could never adequately honor or appreciate my parents for demonstrating holiness by sheer example. With complete excitement and joy, I look forward to serving the Lord’s people.”
Danielle Brooks is convincing as the legendary Mahalia Jackson in the Lifetime original movie Robin Roberts Presents Mahalia!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting on this movie since it was announced last year that my girl Danielle Brooks would be portraying Mahalia.
Dear Lord, your gift wasn’t my voice. It was my purpose.
I knew that Brooks who grew up in a Christian home(her father was a deacon and her mother a minister) would nail this role.
Born in New Orleans, Mahalia began singing at an early age and went on to become one of the most revered gospel figures in U.S. history, melding her music with the civil rights movement. Her recording of the song “Move on Up a Little Higher” sold millions of copies, skyrocketing her to international fame and gave her the opportunity to perform at diverse settings including in front of a racially integrated audience at the prestigious Carnegie Hall and at John F. Kennedy’s inaugural ball. An active supporter of the Civil Rights Movement, Jackson sang at numerous rallies, including the March on Washington in 1963 alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in hopes that her music would encourage and inspire racial equality.
Premiering April 3rd on Lifetime, Mahalia is executive produced by GMA’s Robin Roberts and Linda Berman.
