The 47th Annual Dove Awards went down on Tuesday in Nashville, TN at Lipscomb University, and the who’s who of Gospel and Christian music took over Nashville.

A highlight of the night was when Anthony Brown’s mother received his first award of the night for him (he was preparing for his performance), she became overwhelmed with joy as tears rolled down her face, and she gave God all the glory.. I caught up with her in the media room, and asked her about that moment.

Kirk Franklin, who won Gospel Artist of the Year, was a presenter at Tuesday night’s Dove Awards, and Jason Clayborn won A Dove Award for writing the song “Better” performed by Bishop Hezekiah Walker. During his acceptance speech the singer/songwriter talked about how we need to get rid of the labels of christian music, and gospel music and just call it Kingdom music, because we’re all singing to the same God. Amen!

Janice Gaines, who was also nominated for a Dove Award for her single “Wait On You” on the carpet with “baby Gaines” The mommy to be performed her Dove nominated single the night before at the Ascap Urban event.

Travis Greene, who hosted the pre-show and performed his hit song “Intentional” at the Awards show posing with Hillsong United’s Taya Smith, War Room star, Priscilla Shirer, who was a presenter (War Room also won for Inspirational Film of the Year), and her brother Anthony Evans, Jr.
Todd Dulaney performed his hit song “The Anthem” during the pre-show.
Williams McDowell won Urban Worship CD of the Year for Sounds of Revival.
Christian singer, Natalie Grant hit the carpet with her producer husband, Bernie Herms, who won Producer of the Year.
The 47th Annual Dove Awards ceremony will air Sunday (Oct. 16) on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
