A Grandmother and Her Two Grandchildren Killed In Car Crash On Their Way To Church Because of a High Speed Chase

A grandmother was headed to church Sunday morning with two of her grandchildren, when they were struck and killed by a car being chased by police.

dorothy-wright-cameron-cosner-laylaDorothy Wright, 75, and her two grandchildren, Cameron Cosner, 12, and Layla, 6, were heading to First Peter AME Church Sunday morning.

The trio never made it to the service because they were blindsided by a suspect who allegedly stole a black SUV from the Westin hotel in College Park.

Witnesses in the neighborhood where it ended, near the historic Westview Cemetery, said the SUV flew past a stop sign at a high rate of speed. It struck a Buick carrying the woman and the boy, according to police. The boy was thrown from the car, and his body  landed in the street.

Witnesses said both the SUV and the police were traveling at high rates of speed prior to the crash.

My prayers are with this family…..
