Ayesha Curry (who happens to be one of my favorite people) is gushing over her NBA MVP husband, Steph Curry as she stands by his side as he and the Golden State Warriors battle the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The Christian entrepreneur says that her hubby manages to remain the same person she started dating eight years ago. Humble, hardworking and absolutely hilarious.
Ayesha Curry, who isn’t making any predictions just yet on how the NBA Finals will turn out.
“Well, you never know how these things turn out,” she told ABC News. “All I do know is that I see firsthand how hard he works and that he somehow manages to remain the same person I started dating eight years ago. Humble, hardworking and absolutely hilarious.”
In fact, Ayesha admits that while she’s not the biggest sports fan, she is obviously her husband’s No. 1 supporter. That’s never been more evident than with Game 3 tonight in Cleveland.
“You can’t help but feel something when you watch him and the Warriors play,” she added. “They evoke emotion out of people from children to grannies. That’s special. I feel like all of the little characters from the movie ‘Inside Out’ when I watch. I’m so emotional about my DUBS.”
Steph and Ayesha Curry met in youth group at the Central Church of God in Charlotte, which both their families attended. “It’s funny, our parents used to make jokes about how cute we were together, but we didn’t know,” Stephen says. Ayesha remembers when she found out she and Stephen had both lived in Toronto and loved the same Canadian candy. “I got him some fuzzy peaches, but I was so shy I didn’t say anything. I just handed them to him and walked off,” she laughs. Stephen admits to being equally shy, but he says he was always aware when Ayesha was around.
