Bob Dylan, is poised to share his Gospel roots in the 13th chapter of his “Bootleg Series.” The singer and songwriter is leaning toward a box set devoted to his gospel period, which ran from 1979 to 1981.
The Gospel chapter of Dylan’s career began in August of 1979 with the release of “Slow Train Coming.” It was a collection of eight songs about his reawakening as a Christian.
The spiritual album hit No. 3 on the Billboard Album Chart and was met with favorable reviews.
He followed up on that success with “Saved” in 1980. It was another collection of religious songs.
