Netflix Blue Miracle starring Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid and Jimmy Gonzales releases today.

Netflix Blue Miracle

I had the opportunity to screen this film and not only was it inspiring, it was full of hope and love.

The film is based on the incredible true story of Casa Hogar, the Mexican boys home that entered the world’s biggest fishing tournament to save their orphanage.

Quaid plays a washed up fisherman and Gonzales portrays the boys home “papa,” whose unlikely partnership has one purpose….. to win the money!

Both desperate for the winnings, find themselves at a crossroads… do they try to win the right way or do they cheat.

I believe every man got inside of him his call to greatness, to be able to do something better than anybody else. and most men they’re afraid of that and they make any excuse they can including their family to play it safe, not to answer that call but I’m not that way.

Most of the film is centered around what happens on the boat. Spending hours at sea for 3 days trying to catch the “big blue,” we find out that Gonzales is still dealing with the death of his father who died at sea. Quaid has a son, who he has sacrificed a relationship with to follow his dream of becoming the worlds greatest fisherman. The boys see Gonzales as a father figure, and even though they come from different backgrounds learn to love and support one another. Sounds like a family to me!

Anyway, I truly enjoyed this move and with the holiday weekend upon us, this would be a great film to watch with the entire family.

Finding You movie: I wish it spent more time on the main character doing the work to deal with her insecurities.

Finding You

The inspirational romantic drama centers around violinist Finley Sinclair, who when the movie starts seems confident and sure of herself. We soon find out that she’s insecure and unsure of her talent. Her insecurities get in the way during her audition at Manhattan’s prestigious music conservatory…and she bombs her audition.

This is where the fun begins…

Finding You

She decides to take a semester abroad in Ireland just like her older brother Alex, who recently passed away.

Fate would have it that on her flight she get’s seated next to movie star Beckett Rush. They end up staying at the same bed and breakfast.

The rest of the movie is centered around Finley and Beckett blossoming romance, catty girl drama, and Finley not knowing what’s best for her until she team’s up with an unlikely life coach.

In theaters May 14th

Monster Starring Jennifer Hudson releases this Friday on Netflix and you would want to grab your kids and watch it!

I got an advance screening of the upcoming drama and I have to be honest and tell you that even though it’s a great film, it was hard to watch… Especially with all the police brutality that’s going on against out Black men and women.

Monster Starring Jennifer Hudson

Monster tells the story of Steve Harmon (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) a seventeen-year-old honor student whose world comes crashing down around him when he is charged with felony murder. The film follows his dramatic journey from a smart, likeable film student from Harlem attending an elite high school through a complex legal battle that could leave him spending the rest of his life in prison.

J-Hud portrays his mother Mrs. Harmon in the film. Throughout the film she encompasses what it means to be a mother and to remain strong in your FAITH through difficult times.

“Monster” executive produced by John Legend, Nas, and Jeffrey Wright.

Check out the clip below that features Mrs. Harmon instilling hope, purpose, encouragement, and love in her son, Steven using Psalm 28.
