Tyler Perry announced today that he’s bringing Madea out of retirement for a new Netflix movie.
“A Madea Homecoming,” will debut on the streaming service next year according to reports.
Perry announced the news on social media, “This is Madea saying I’m coming back, and I’m not Netflix and I can’t wait to tell you”
“I was done,” Perry continues, as the iconic character interrupts. “But I wasn’t.”
Perry has been quietly developing the project since the farewell tour.
“As I’ve been looking at the state of the world — and I finished a tour in January, just before the pandemic started to break in the country — and the amount of joy and laughter that it brought to so many people, that’s what I think is missing. We need that laughter and that joy,” the media mogul shared with Variety.
Greenleaf showed us that our girl LeToya Luckett can act. The girl played the mess out of her character Rochelle Cross. So, when the OWN network show came to an end fans were pretty sad.
But, no worries she’s headed back to the small screen in Fox’s “Our Kind Of People.”
Last week I blogged about Our Kind of People and Morris Chestnut playing the lead role in this drama based in a fictional version of Martha’s Vineyard.
According to Deadline, Luckett will play Leah Franklin-Dupont, a strong, confident, elegant businesswoman, who, along with her husband Raymond (Chestnut), sits at the top of the food chain of the wealthy, long-standing Black elite in Martha’s Vineyard. Leah feels the pressure of her position, and a responsibility to give back to the Black community. But when Angela Vaughn (DaCosta) arrives and starts to shake things up and threaten her family’s legacy, Leah makes it her mission to bar Angela from acceptance into The Bluffs before she tears down everything Leah’s family has built.”
Oh and she has a word for anyone who’s faith is being tested right now.
I literally went from what’s next to receiving this wonderful call while filming a movie ( hence my wardrobe) to how are we gonna work the schedule out 🤔 when God moves…he MOVES. If y’all could understand how he lined this thing up & how everything came together once I got out of the way & allowed him to lead. Now, hard work was a MAJOR part of getting me this opportunity. I will not deny that. Faith without works is dead, but I just want y’all to know how AMAZING God is. He’s NEVER failing. He ALWAYS has a plan for us. Trust him & LET GO! YOUR YES IS ON IT’S WAY!! Claim & BELIEVE THAT! ✨
David E. Talbert has teamed up with LeBron James to bring a comedy inspired by his real life to ABC.
According to Deadline, Better Late is about a first-time dad whose world gets turned upside down when his own father, a charismatic deadbeat, shows back up hoping for a do-over with his son and a relationship with his grandson. The multi-camera comedy is a show about forgiveness, second chances and the search for silver linings even in the cloudiest of situations.
Oh boy… writing this is gonna require a lot of laughter though a lot of tears. And a lot of hugs from my wife and baby boy
Better Late is being produced by Talbert, his wife Lyn Sisson-Talbert and LeBron’s Springhill Company.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their babygirl.
According to the couples spokesperson, Meghan gave birth to Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on Friday.
“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.
“She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.
