Tory Burch: Inspiring Success Quotes

Tory Burch is one of my favorite designers by far, and not just because of her dope bags and shoes. Not only does she design with today’s woman in mind the philanthropy arm of her business is all about supporting the economic empowerment of women in the U.S. through small business loans, mentoring and entrepreneurial education. The girl is just dope!

Look at everything in a positive way. (Negativity is noise)!

Listed below are some of my favorite quotes from the fashion designer and businesswoman:

On Juggling Being A Business Woman and Mother: “My biggest challenge every day is to be a great mother and a great businesswoman.”

On Being Ambitious: “Sometimes women entrepreneurs are their own challenge, in terms of believing in themselves. There is no need to apologize for being ambitious.”

Own Your Success: “We need to get women to the point where they aren’t apologizing. It’s time to take ownership in our success.”

Dealing With Negativity: “Think of negativity as noise and always believe in what you’re doing.”

Being An Entrepreneur: “Being an entrepreneur isn’t just a job title, and it isn’t just about starting a company. It’s a state of mind. It’s about seeing connection others can’t, seizing opportunities others won’t, and forging new direction that others haven’t.”

Pursing Your Dreams: “Fearlessly pursue your dreams. Embrace your ambitions.”

Jamal and Gizelle recently confirmed that they were dating again after divorcing in 2009, and even threw some sanctified shade at the blogs on Valentine’s Day when they posted a pic wearing some dope T’shirts that read “The Plot” & “The Storyline.”

Review: The Way Back: Starring Ben Affleck: In Theaters Now!

If you love a good sports or inspirational movie then The Way Back starring Ben Affleck is a must see this weekend!

Before I dive into what the film is about, let me say that I haven’t seen Affleck on the big screen in a minute… but this is probably one of his best acting gigs ever!!!

ben affleck The Way back

Affleck stars as Jack Cunningham, a guy full of heartache after suffering a major loss and losing his marriage. Alcohol becomes his coping mechanism.

“I spent a lot of time hurting myself, trying to hurt my father.”

He once had a life full of promise, but now he’s a functioning alcoholic in denial. Thank God for his loving support system, like his sister who gives him words of wisdom in the film:

“We can’t change the past, Jack. What we can do is choose how we move forward.”

He has his road to redemption moment when he is asked to coach his Alma Mater Bishop Hayes High School basketball team…. a team who hasn’t won since he was the star 25 years ago. Father Edward Devine (John Aylward) reaches out to Cunningham, who reluctantly takes the job and starts to find a purpose outside of drinking and not only change the teams life for the better, but his too!

This is a feel good movie of healing and restoration…something that we all can use right now!

Watch: Bishop T.D. Jakes Shares Inspirational Message On Tamron Hall Show

At a special request of Tamron Hall, Bishop T.D. Jakes was on her show Monday to share an excerpt of the inspirational message he gave during the opening of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, and he also gave the audience some advice on dealing with grief and setbacks after the passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

Bishop T.D. Jakes

“It is death that makes life special, and bringing it into perspective.. that we stop wasting things like time, having love for people and we don’t tell them, not resolving old conflicts, having unforgiveness are the enemies, the cancer that eat up this precious commodity that we call time.”

“It is often the things that we go through that cause us to become the people that we are, not the positive things, but the negative things.”
