Attorney and go to cable legal analyst Midwin Charles died Tuesday at the age of 47, her family has announced.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart and the deepest sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Midwin Charles,” her family wrote on Twitter.
She contributed to Essence Magazine and was a commentator on CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Bloomberg TV and other media outlets.
Active in community affairs, she was a member of the board of Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN). She has served as a member of the Civil Rights Committee for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, lectured at Syracuse University and written for The Huffington Post, according to her website.
Even though no cause of death has been given, last month she told her Instagram followers that she wasn’t feeling well.
