“One day, you will preach to millions,” a woman told Denzel Washington in his mother’s beauty shop in March of 1975.
Denzel recalled that story Thursday before receiving the American Film Institute’s 47th Life Achievement Award at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. It’s clear that woman was relaying a prophetic word from the Lord!
Two Oscars and a ton of box office hits later, Denzel Washington has found his platform to preach, and we’ve been listening and watching ever since.
“Start your day with prayer. Ask for wisdom. Ask for understanding. Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference,” Denzel shared during an interview with Christian Today.
