GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer Erica Campbell has launched the “Bless Flint Challenge” to filter out the lead that has poisoned the water in homes.
“Join me in the Bless Flint Challenge. We can make a tangible difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Flint,” says the “Help” singer in a new Instagram video. “They need water filters and they need them now.”
According to the GoFundMe page set up to collect contributions, the fundraising goal is $25,000, which will be divided among four churches in Flint, enabling the awarded ministries to purchase and distribute water filters to members of the church and community.
Erica spent this past Sunday with sister Tina Campbell at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church as guest of LA’s Mayor Eric Garcetti as part of the African American Heritage Month Worship Service.
