FLOTUS Michelle Obama took to Twitter today to voice her support for the historic, 25-hour sit-in on gun control led by House Democrats.
The first lady stamped her approval on a tweet from Rep. John Lewis – who on Wednesday launched the sit-in protesting for a House vote on gun control legislation – that said: “We got in trouble. We got in the way. Good trouble. Necessary Trouble. By sitting-in, we were really standing up. #NoBillNoBreak.”
“So proud of everyone who stood up by sitting down. #GoodTrouble,” the first lady tweeted in response to Lewis’ statement.
The first lady followed up with several more tweets calling for stricter gun control:
“We have grieved for too many children and wept for too many families after shootings. Chicago. Tucson. Newtown. Charleston. Orlando. #Enough.”
“If there is even one step we can take to save just one life from gun violence, then we have a moral obligation to try. #Enough.”
