A Grace Lutheran church youth pastor is behind bars for the deaths of his wife, stepdaughter, and her boyfriend on Thanksgiving Day.
Christopher Gattis was at the scene of the crime when police arrived and found the victims deceased.
The victims are Jeanett Gattis, 58; her daughter Candice “Candy” Kunze, 30; and Kunze’s boyfriend, Andrew Buthorn, 36.
When officers surveyed the scene, they discovered the women’s bodies inside the home and the man’s, in the front yard.
This incident appears to be domestic related,’ Chesterfield Police Sgt. P.H. Zoffuto confirmed in a news release Friday.
Christopher Gattis was a youth pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a ministries coordinator for middle school and high school students.
“Members of Grace Lutheran Church are deeply saddened by the loss of life last night as a result of three individuals being shot in Chester, and this tragedy included members of Grace Lutheran Church,” the church said in a statement.
