Actress, Helena Bonham Carter will reportedly play Princess Margaret in Season 3 of The Crown.
If the reports are true, Bonham Carter will replace Vanessa Kirby, who played the younger Princess.
With season 3 of The Crown expected to show us the characters up in age, series creator Peter Morgan had said he would recast roles.
“You can’t ask someone to act middle-aged. Someone has to bring their own fatigue to it, Morgan said. The feelings we all have as 50-year-olds are different than the feelings we all have as 30-year-olds.“
According to ELLE, Bonham Carter is no stranger to playing a royal; she’s portrayed the Queen Mother in The King’s Speech, 16th-century queen Lady Jane Grey, and Henry VIII’s second wife Anne Boleyn on-screen.
We still don’t know who will replace Matt Smith as Prince Philip, the Queen’s husband, in the Netflix series.
If this report turns out to be true, we’re pretty excited about it!
