I am obsessed with the costume design in HBO’s Lovecraft Country, specifically Jurnee Smollett’s character Letitia “Leti” Lewis. The girl be FIYAH!
Mix those vintage pieces with her bomb ass acting and you can’t take your eyes off the screen. I see an award coming!
Costume designer Dayna Pink, is responsible for turning Smollett into a 1950’s masterpiece. Her film credits include Crazy, Stupid Love and Bad Boys for Life.
“We found Leti, and we got to really play with her because she uses clothing as an armor,” Pink shared with BAZAAR. “She’s dressed beyond her means. We don’t know where she got those clothes and it doesn’t matter where she got them, because she’s a girl that gets what she wants. So we just went with, ‘What would she want to wear?’ And that’s what we did.”
