R&B singer, Mary J. Blige is headed to How To Get Away With Murder according to Entertainment Weekly. The Grammy award-winning singer will appear in the third season of the ABC hit drama.
There is no information about Blige’s character or plotline quite yet, but given that Viola Davis revealed that season three features a new mystery “and it’s going to be presented very quickly in the first episode,” one can only wonder, and then show creator Shonda Rhimes has already teased a mysterious new plot line for the twist-packed show. In a promo that premiered exclusively on EW, law professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) is taunted by an unknown perpetrator plastering posters of her face with the word “killer” all over campus.
Blige has been making the transition from a career as singer-songwriter to acting: she starred earlier this year as Evillene in The Wiz Live! on NBC, a role that earned her a Critics’ Choice TV Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series. Blige also appeared in the Season 1 finale of ABC’s hit comedy series black-ish.
