Today, March 26th, the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi celebrates her 80th birthday
Madame Speaker is what they call her on Capitol Hill. She is the first woman in U.S. history to hold this position, the highest-ranking female elected official in United States history, and is committed to her Catholic faith, her family and the great state of California.

Since I love a good inspiring quote for women by women, I thought I would share one of my favorites from the Speaker to celebrate her birthday and help to get your day started.
“Women are leaders everywhere you look – from the CEO who runs a Fortune 500 company to the housewife who raises her children and heads her household. Our country was built by strong women and we will continue to break down walls and defy stereotypes.”
Oh, and she has a word for people who pray to God to win elections.
I think about my parents all the time, especially on Sunday when I’m at Mass. My mother always said, ‘We do not pray to win elections. We pray for people’s health, we pray that God’s will be done, we pray that we do our best. But we do not pray to win elections.’
Happy Birthday Speaker Pelosi!
Let Your Light Shine Girl!
