Rebecca Crews, wife of actor Terry Crews opened up to PEOPLE about finding out she had breast cancer at the same time the coronavirus pandemic started.
“Though it was Stage 1, you’re overwhelmed with fear, like cancer is this all-consuming, all-powerful evil entity,” she told the publication.
The actress/singer has already undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

She underwent surgery March 3rd, with her husband, her pastor, Marguerite Reeve, and best friend from college, Muriel by her side. “They’re my Holy Trinity,” Crews joked.
Now she’s home resting and using her quiet time during recovery and social distancing to reflect on her cancer journey and practicing a healthier lifestyle.
“I’m doing a little soul searching and asking myself what’s important to me,” she says. But other than that … my life is in a good balance, and I have so many happy, exciting things to focus on.”
