Serena Williams has joined the list of celebrities making sure our little black girls and boys get to see Marvel’s Black Panther.
On Thursday night Serena surprised a group of girls from Girls Code, when she invited them to watch a private screening of the record breaking film with her.
Serena shared a photo of the girls on her Instagram page.
Serena’s husband Alexis Ohanian shared a video of the girls’ excitement when they found out they would be watching Black Panther with a real life super hero.
Girls Code mission is to increase the number of women of color in the digital technology space by introducing girls 7-17 to computing skills.

Taking the girls from Girls Code to see this film was pretty dope, seeing as though they got to see a black girl named Letitia Wright, who portrays Shuri, run Wakanda’s technology center in the film. The tech savvy character is also the little sister of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).
