SINGER USHER INSPIRED BY SON’S BRAVERY WHILE DEALING WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES

Usher who was attended the JDRF  Promise Ball( JDRF‘s Promise Ball,  aims to raise awareness about Diabetes and money for research and a cure) on Wednesday night, told People that he is inspired by his son’s bravery while struggling with type 1 Diabetes.

Usher’s 7-year-old son Usher V (aka “Cinco”) was diagnosed last year…. and the singer is using his celebrity as a platform to advocate for a cure for the disease.

Usher talked about his son’s bravery:

“A child that every day has to prick himself and has to be cautious of what he eats and also to carry this disorder around — that really is the type of bravery that we all aspire to have,” says Usher who attended the event with wife Miguel.

 

Usher talked about how his son’s diabetes is effecting him as well:

“There’s been some difficult moments,” he says, but “having dealt with it on a daily basis, I have a great deal of understanding of what people have to deal with. It’s personal.”
