Alfred Street Baptist Church Prayer Walk for Peace and Justice Sunday!

The Alfred Street Baptist Church in Collaboration with the NAACP will host a Prayer Walk for Peace and Justice on Sunday, June 14, 2020, in Washington, D.C.

Regional and local ecumenical believers and leaders, national faith leaders, congressional leaders, civil rights leaders, and celebrities will gather at 6:00 a.m. at the National Museum of African American History and Culture at 1400 Constitution Avenue, N.W., pray, and march to 16th Street and Black Lives Matter Plaza, N.W., arriving at 7:45 a.m.

The purpose of the Prayer Walk is to come together as leaders of faith to declare and decree to the world that Black Lives Matter.

“As we mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others, we must continue to rely on the power of prayer to guide us through the trauma of racism and inequality,” said Rev Dr. Wesley Howard-Johnson, Pastor, ASBC. “African Americans have a long rich history of overcoming adversity through our love of family and community.”
