Meghan Markle Makes Surprise Mother’s Day Donation

Meghan Markle through her and Prince Harry’s Archewell foundation used Mother’s Day to make a surprise donation to Harvest Home.

Harvest Home, whose mission is to transform the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children, posted on their Instagram page that Archewell, and Procter & Gamble, had donated “diapers, cleaning supplies, and other essential items to ensure that the moms and babies at Harvest Home are celebrated all throughout the year.”

The surprise donation was accompanied by a personal letter from the Duchess of Sussex:

“Thank you for all you do for the women and mothers who are turned away elsewhere, at no fault of their own. When we consider how vulnerable any mother feels during the fragile time of pregnancy, we gain perspective about how especially difficult it can be for pregnant women of color and those who come from under-resourced and vulnerable communities. I hope you will accept an offer of support to help further uplift Harvest Home’s residents.”

Meghan Markle has penned her first children’s book.

The Duchess new book “The Bench,” is inspired by Prince Harry and Archie’s relationship.

Illustrated by bestselling artist, Christian Robinson, the book is set to be released on June 8th, 2021… Just in time for Father’s Day.

“The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born,” said the Duchess according to Hello! “That poem became this story. Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy, and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life; this representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens.”

According to friend and feminist Gloria Steinem, Meghan Markle has been helping to get out the vote ahead of the Nov. 3rd election.

“[Markle] came home to vote,’’ Steinem told “Access Hollywood’’ sharing how the two met at her house and called voters.

“And the first thing we did, and why she came to see me, was we sat at the dining room table here, where I am right now, and cold-called voters. And said, ‘Hello, I’m Meg,’ and, ‘Hello, I’m Gloria,’ and, ‘Are you going to vote?’

“That was her initiative,’’ Steinem said.

Meghan Markle’s Faith Brought To Light In New Book

It was obvious during her wedding that Meghan Markle’s faith was important to her. From the scriptures chosen to the music the Gospel choir song, her faith was on display for the world to see.

In the book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the royal reporters shed a little more light on her faith.

“Her relationship with God and with her church is extremely important to her. That’s something most people do not know about her,” it reads. “It plays a central role in her life, as an individual, as a woman.”

They reporters reveal in the book that both Meghan and Harry have been on a “journey of faith together.”

“It’s prayer and conversations with God that have gotten her through the darkest moments. That’s something that plays a significant role in her life and her relationship with Harry,” the book states.

America’s Princess, Meghan Markle spoke out on Wednesday about the senseless killing of George Floyd.

While giving a virtual commencement speech for her old high school, Immaculate Heart, the emotional Duchess started her speech with, “George Floyd’s life mattered and Breonna Taylor’s life mattered and Philando Castile’s life mattered and Tamir Rice’s life mattered…”

Meghan then shared with the all girls school her memory of living in L.A. during the L.A. Riots .

“I was 11 or 12 years old and it was the LA Riots, which was also triggered by senseless act of racism,” she said. “I remember the curfew and I remember rushing back home and on that drive home, seeing ash fall from the sky and smelling the smoke and seeing the smoke billow out of buildings… I remember seeing men in the back of a van just holding guns and rifles. I remember pulling up the house and seeing the tree, that had always been there, completely charred. And those memories don’t go away.”

However, Markle has seen another side to this country’s racial divide. A side that offers hope and she’s assured those seniors that they are already equipped to build a bridge. According to Essence, she said, “We’re seeing that right now, from the sheriff in Michigan or the police chief in Virginia. We’re seeing people stand in solidarity, we are seeing communities come together and to uplift. You are going to be part of this movement.”

She continued: “With as diverse, vibrant and opened minded as I know the teachings are at Immaculate Heart, I know you know that Black lives matters. You’re going to use your voice in a stronger way than you have ever been able to because most of you are 18 – or you’re turning 18 — so you’re going to vote. You’re going to have empathy for those who don’t see the world through the same lens that you do. You’re ready. We need you and you’re prepared.”

Meghan Markle Visits Commonwealth Scholars Before Heading Back To Canada

In the middle of turning London into her personal runway, Meghan Markle paused to spend time with the Commonwealth Scholars before heading back to Canada to be with baby Archie.

The Duchess met Commonwealth scholars at Buckingham Palace to hear about their plans to tackle challenges facing the 54 countries that make up the union, according to royal reports.

Earlier this week The Duchess of Sussex, in her role as Patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), met with the bright minds from across the Commonwealth to hear about their commitment to tackling the global challenges we all face. The Duchess spoke with Scholars studying and researching important areas surrounding; cleaning up plastic pollution in our oceans, helping to build more sustainable cities, improving health outcomes for citizens, and supporting decent work and economic growth. Paving the way as the next generation of leaders, these inspirational scholars, are spread far across the Commonwealth from Malawi to Malaysia, Ghana to Sri Lanka – all of whom will use the skills and knowledge they gain while studying in the UK to make a difference when they return to their home countries. The Duchess, who also attended university with support of a scholarship, is a strong advocate of accessible education for all. As the Royal Patron of The Association of Commonwealth Universities (@The_ACU_Official) since January 2019, The Duchess has met and engaged with students, academics, and staff from ACU member universities across the Commonwealth to learn more about the vital work they do to address global challenges. She was joined by students from 11 different countries – Malawi, India, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. They were split into four groups to reflect their research areas – climate and the environment, sustainable cities, health innovation and technology. But the Duchess told them: “Even though the groups are divided, everyone is connected because of this very holistic approach to tackling climate change. I love how solution based you all are.”

This year’s Met Gala theme: “About Time: Fashion and Duration.” The exhibition will explore the connection between fashion and time through writings of authors, such as the late Virginia Woolf — including her novel Orlando, which sees the main character transition from a man to a woman.

Fun fact: Meghan’s mother in law, the late Princess Diana attended the 1996 Met Gala alongside friend and former Harper’s Bazaar editor Liz Tilberis. She wore a navy blue camisole dress from John Galliano’s debut couture collection for Dior and a pearl, diamond and sapphire choker around her neck.

Meghan Markle’s Royal Wardrobe.. Does She Get To Keep It?

I have been obsessed with Meghan Markle’s royal wardrobe since she and Harry made their 1st public appearance. Now that their stepping down as senior royals, what happens to her clothes?

Since becoming a member of the royal family, Meghan’s designer closet has been funded by Prince Charles, the Duchy of Cornwall, which, according to the new sussexroyal website, also covers 95 percent of the Sussex lifestyle. Right now it’s unclear whether this will continue.

However, Royal experts believe that Meghan will be able to keep the clothes that were purchased before the couple decided to step away from royal duties, but not her Givenchy wedding dress. It will stay the property of the Royal family.

Experts also pointed out that the Duchess has recently cut her fashion spending significantly by deciding to recycle items already in her closet and relying on less expensive staples instead of regularly finding new items from popular brands such as Givenchy, Stella McCartney and Roland to present Mouret as she did when she first became a member of the monarchy.
