The 2020 Virtual Stellar Awards Set to Premiere on BET Networks

The 2020 Virtual Stellar Awards hosted by Kirk Franklin, Koryn Hawthorne and Jonathan McReynolds is set to premiere on BET, Sunday Aug 23rd. at 6/5c

The two hour virtual special will celebrate 35 years of excellence in the genre with inspirational performances from Gospel music’s most celebrated artists, and honor the contributions of first responder heroes on the front lines of the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Confirmed performers include Anthony Brown, CeCe Winans, James Fortune, Koryn Hawthorne, J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise, Jonathan McReynolds, Travis Greene, Kierra Sheard, Marvin Sapp, Tye Tribbett, Tauren Wells, Zacardi Cortez, Pastor Mike Jr, DOE, Rich Tolbert Jr., and more.

In light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Central City Productions, Inc. the producers of the Stellar Awards brings you an uplifting and encouraging two-hour musical special, The Stellar Awards: Music of Hope.

Hosted by multiple Stellar and Grammy-award winning artist, Kirk Franklin, the gospel music special features songs of from previous Stellar Awards classic performances by: Tamela Mann, Donnie McClurkin, Michelle Williams featuring Beyonce’ and Kelly Rowland, Marvin Sapp, Lecrae, Canton Jones, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Yolanda Adams, Bebe and Cece Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Mary Mary, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Jonathan McReynolds, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Brian Courtney Wilson, Patti LaBelle, Ricky Dillard, Karen Clark Sheard, VaShawn Mitchell, Sarah Reeves, Jonathan Butler, Tramaine Hawkins, Travis Greene, Dottie Peoples and Israel Houghton.

Stellar Awards

The Music of Hope Special will air around the country in broadcast syndication from April 11 through May 24 in more than 216 markets and on Bounce TV on May 24th at 12PM EST (noon).

ENTERTAINMENT ONE DOMINATES 34TH ANNUAL STELLAR GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS WITH 10 WINS

Entertainment One won a total of 10 Stellar Gospel Music Awards during the taping of the 34thannual awards ceremony held in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena on Friday, March 29th. The biggest night in gospel music, hosted by Kirk Franklin, will premiere on BET Networks on Easter Sunday, April 21stat 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT.

Contemporary gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds was this year’s biggest winner, taking home 8 awards, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Contemporary Male Artist of the Year. The extraordinary singer earned recognition for his work on the #1 Billboard Gospel album “Make Room.” Fans can currently catch Jonathan McReynolds on the Make More Room Tour.
Todd Dulaney, whose unforgettable anthems have earned him countless fans, won Praise & Worship CD of the Year for his project, “Your Great Name,” which includes the Billboard Gospel smash hit title track. Dulaney’s latest effort, “To Africa With Love” hit digital and retail outlets on March 15, 2019 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.


eOne subsidiary Light Records artist Jabari Johnson won “New Artist of the Year.” The emerging artist is currently the lead guitarist at The Potter’s House under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes in Dallas, TX. Johnson’s latest effort “Day of Redemption” is available at all major digital retailers now.
