The entire Best Man cast is reuniting on the Peacock platform for a 10 episode spin-off series that is being labeled “The Final Chapter.”
The Best Man: Final Chapters will reintroduce viewers to Harper, Robyn, Jordan, Lance, Quentin, Shelby, Candace, and Murch. Final Chapters catches up with the crew “as relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance,” Peacock shared in a press release Wednesday.
The first Best Man film, which was released in 1999, follows Harper Stewart (Taye Diggs) a lifelong bachelor and author whose latest book was inspired by his own friends. While Harper is trying to keep the truth behind the book a secret, things get complicated quickly when his ex, Jordan (Nia Long), gets an advance copy, and Harper is set to join in on his close friend’s wedding as his best man just as the book is making its rounds with his group of friends.
The film inspired the 2013 sequel, The Best Man Holiday, which brought the friends back together for a holiday reunion.
From Malcolm D. Lee and Dayna Lynne North, the cast of the original films includes Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau.
