October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and some of my favorite brands are donating a percentage of their sales to different foundations/organizations to help find a cure.
Proceeds from the different brands sales will go towards everything from research to better access to screening and early detection, according to reports.
Here are some of my favorites that have released special edition collections:
For the entire month of October, 20% of the proceeds from any Tory Burch bag from the “Shop For A Cure” capsule collection will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There are six different styles to choose from.
Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony Fund, which launched in 2000, just released new apparel for this year. 100% of the proceeds from the “Live Love” T-shirt will go to the Fund while 25% of the proceeds from the rest of the collection will be donated to one of a network of international cancer charities.
“Through our Pink Pony Fund of the Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation, we continue to build on our 20-year commitment to cancer care by supporting our long-standing network of international cancer institutions caring for people with cancer who are especially vulnerable during COVID-19 — including donations, meals, and products to frontline workers and families in need.”
Other brands giving back are Kendra Scott, North Face, Ann Taylor, and La Mer skincare.
According to the Susan G. Komen website, in 2020, it’s estimated among women in the U.S. there will be:
- 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer (This includes new cases of primary breast cancer, but not recurrences of original breast cancers.)
- 48,530 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a non-invasive breast cancer
- 42,170 breast cancer deaths
Get tested and get tested early! Early detection is key.
