AARP is celebrating women in America inside their December/January issue and they’ve tapped Academy Award winning actress Viola Davis for the cover.

Inside the issue, Queen Viola, who is one of today’s most respected, gifted and sought-after actors, talks about her passions that lie more in matters of the heart and soul: loving her family, sharing her wisdom, spreading her message of hope, confidence and faith.
“I am a God believer. I believe that sometimes you have to give it over to a higher entity, because sometimes I don’t have the answers and I’m never going to have them.”
Additionally, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tina Turner, Italian Icon Sophia Loren, Purpose Prize Honoree Glenn Close and more inspiring stories are featured inside the issue.
Also, AARP The Magazine asked five sets of mothers, daughters and granddaughters to talk about how being a woman has changed in their families and in America since the rise of the modern feminist movement 50 years ago. Their stories are simultaneously shocking, loving and hopeful.
Available in homes starting in December and available online now at www.aarp.org/magazine/.
