Viola Davis Makes History, Regina King, Uzo Aduba, and Bessie Win at Emmy’s

Last night Emmy awards did not disappoint.  From the history that was made by Viola Davis, to the speeches, to the dresses,  to the uplifting of each other our favorite ladies left us ready for next year.

Viola Davis became the first African American woman to win an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role on ‘How to Get Away with Murder’. Our favorite part of her acceptance speech came when she quoted Harriet Tubman about the invisible line that women of color are striving to cross.21EMMYJP6-master675

Regina King won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a limited series or movie.  Our favorite parts of this moment was that Taraji P. Henson presented her with her Emmy with genuine love and happiness for her.

Queen Latifah’s Bessie, a HBO biopic about legendary blues singer Bessie Smith, took home  four trophies, including Outstanding Television Movie, at the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday (Sept. 20).

By far the BEST of the Emmy speeches went to Uzo Aduba!!  Take a look:
